Linus Persson

Linus is an intelligent and technically gifted centre-back who combines excellent ball control with a strong passing range and a high-level understanding of the game. His ability to read situations early allows him to anticipate play, make key interceptions and consistently be in the right position. Linus was a key part in Floreat Athena’s recent success in winning the league title and being promoted straight back into NPL WA.

Despite his size, he is very comfortable in possession and has the technical quality to build play from the back. He is confident carrying the ball forward and breaking lines with his passing, making him an important player in the first phase of attack.

At 193 cm, his physical presence is a major advantage, particularly in aerial duels and physical match-ups. His consistency in duels is one of his defining qualities, having finished every season with the highest duel success percentage in his league.

His combination of technical ability, game intelligence, physical presence and defensive reliability makes him a modern centre-back capable of contributing both defensively and in possession.
